How long does it take a movie like transformers to be made?

You're looking at close to 18 months' worth of work. A script can take up to three to four months to complete. Pre-production and principal photography usually takes about two months, followed by actual shooting, which can take anywhere from three to four months, depending on the locations. The primary thing that takes up the majority of the time with the movies is the editing, mixing, CGI and sound effects added in after shooting is completed. It will depend on where they are shooting, what kind of stunts they are doing and if they are shooting in 3D or not.

From Pre production though post, I would say a year and a half on average. How long does it take a movie like transformers to be made?It took about a year and a half to make the first Transformers.
