How are movies like transformers made?

Like what do they do? I was at the transformers filming in Chicago and there's like people filming home videos of the shoot and the transformers filming crew has like cameras pointing everywhere. There cameras are filming like in every direction and they are like looking at eachothers how do they edit stuff out like the crowd noise, crowd being in the picture, people in the buildings looking on and cameras at every angle filming a scene while the other camera is in the shot. There's just soo much going onHow are movies like transformers made?I would assume they would be filming an action shot with the robots. They use computer animation to CGI the Transformers into the film they shot.
