Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England?

What makes the USA the odd man out?

There is something very important - and obvious - that appears to have gone right over the heads of the misogynists. What is it?Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England? So people who are against laws that discriminate against men are misogynists? LOL! This is such warped thinking I can't wait to hear your answer. My guess is that you will say something like 'The US courts are more overwhelmed by domestic violence cases than other countries and therefore need Judge Dredd-type laws to save the countless terrorised women'. I hope you say something like this in any case. It will amuse me that you don't see that having laws that unjustly target and fast track men into court will falsely inflate the numbers of men accused of domestic violence, thus apparently justifying the VAWA legislation in the first place.

The correct answer is:

1/ Pressure from feminists in the US based on false statistics

2/ Greed of US lawyers.

No doubt spiteful feminists and greedy lawyers in other parts of the world will try to introduced VAWA-type laws in the near future - something else for you to gloat about. Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England?
It's not necessary here either. We already had laws against violence. Lostfan is right, it's responsible for a lot of anti-male laws and rulings here that don't need to happen. Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England? All it is really is just another classification of another "victim" group and class. Your question kind of reveals your own loathing of men and that you think that current laws in place such as assault, assault %26amp; battery, rape, sexual battery, etc...are not enough? Why is it that those laws are ok for men but not enough for woman? Are you saying that woman need special treatment and hence are not equal or are you saying that these laws need to be enacted in order to keep men in check and hence that they are retalitory against men for some unknown past transgression? The elements of the crimes are more than enough already, all that act does is make another political red herring and yet another example of why a ton of American Woman who have been raised since the 60's are angry at men, about what I am not sure but it is obvious it is something. I am so tired of being labled a stalker, rapist, assaulter, oppressor, etc..just for being a male, don't you guys have some real issues to tackle like circumcision in Africa, mandated group rape in many muslim countries, prevention of education in many African and Islamic nations, sex slavery, etc..?Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England?
I do not understand what that is could someone post something to inform me. Is this happening is Australia? Do you have a link I can follow? Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England?VAWA isn't neccesary in the USA, and i really dont think its doing much good for society. Its responsible for most anti male legislation in the USA.

Luckily i live in Canada, we dont have a VAWA, and women here are treated exactly the same as men.

This makes me think that VAWA is not neccesary, unless the USA is as you say, the odd man out in some way.

I really wouldn't know, i'm not the best person to consult about this. Why was VAWA legislation necessary in the USA but not in Canada or Sweden or England?
Same reason Anti-Pollution laws were necessary. Because our Just-Us system cannot and/or will not apply the laws that are already in place. Assualt is assualt, whether between husband and wife or any others. Trespass is trespass, whether it is you personally entering my property, or your toxic emissions (and I'm not talking, don't eat beans!)

The USA is the odd man out because of one sad fact: The Name "The American Bar Association" is actually a complete sentence. Using "Bar" in its verb form.

Edit: VAWA Stands for "Violence Against Women Act." See more info here.
